coldzera: "Renegades' pick of Dust2 was good for us; we were going to pick it"
In a post-match interview, Marcelo "coldzera" David revealed that the map veto by Renegades worked in their favor, and that they felt confident about coming back on the CT side of Train.
MIBR took down Renegades 2-0 in the quarter-finals of the IEM Katowice Major, ending the underdogs' run in Poland. In the veto phase, the Australian team decided to pick Dust2, which worked out perfectly for the Brazilians, coldzera said in a post-match interview with ESL.

The MIBR star also touched on the CT cide comeback on the second map, Train, where his team was able to tie together 10 rounds straight to win the map 16-12.
ESL: Congratulations, you've defeated Renegades 2-0 in the quarter-finals. Talk me through that game.
coldzera: Dust2 is not a hard map for us, we thought they were going to pick Inferno against us and we are going to pick Dust2. So when they picked Dust2 it was good for us because it was the map we wanted to play, and it opened up Train for us to be played as the second map. So their pick of Dust2 was good for us.
ESL: Train was a little bit harder...
coldzera: Yeah, it was a little bit harder. T-side on Train is always hard. We didn't win the pistol, we won the first buy, but they broke us. It was kind of hard because of the economy. But four rounds is enough to win [after switching] to CT.
ESL: Have you guys found your final form again? It seems like the old SK is back. Is it back in the form of MIBR?
coldzera: Yeah, we are trying to get better as a team. This team has a lot of history, we practiced really hard for this tournament. Let's see how it goes.
Right after the game finished, OJ Borg spoke to Epitacio "TACO" de Melo to get his thoughts on the game. The former Liquid player revealed that MIBR are "still a long way" from their 2017 SK form, but they are taking it "step-by-step":
TACO: Maybe I can say that we are back now, but I know that there is still a long way, we are taking it step by step. I think I said that in every interview I did at this tournament, but I'm really happy to be here, I'm really happy to play another Major semi-finals.
OJ Borg: To win a Major you need to peak at the right moment, play you best Counter-Strike right at the end. Do you feel like you are going that way?
TACO: We are going that way, definitely. We used these five days off after the Legends stage to improve our game, to practice our weaknesses.
Talking about the comeback on Train after just four rounds on the Terrorist side, TACO said the following:
TACO: The T-side of Train is one of the most difficult sides in the game. When we got the fourth round, we were like "OK guys, it is enough". It is really good, getting four rounds on the T side of Train is really good. We were really calm, we knew that if we win the pistol round we would have a chance to come back, and that is what we did."
OJ Borg: [About a potential semi-final against Astralis] Do you like being underdogs?
TACO: I'm not used to it, but there is no pressure for us, the pressure is on them, so lets see how it goes.
